Have you ever had a voice in your head tell you that you aren't good enough? That you can't ride as well as you want? That you'll never get better? That your horse deserves better?
That rotten voice is in us all and we have to SHUT IT DOWN!
It is WRONG!
You are capable.
You can achieve your goals.
You just need to work on your mindset!
At nearly every clinic I teach, I'll have a rider give me a guilty look as they confess they are fearful about some aspect of riding. Maybe it's the canter, maybe it's the trot, or maybe it's riding in general. My answer is always the same - "You are NOT alone!". Everyone has had to face fear at some point in their riding career. But
At nearly every clinic I teach, I'll have a rider give me a guilty look as they confess they are fearful about some aspect of riding. Maybe it's the canter, maybe it's the trot, or maybe it's riding in general. My answer is always the same - "You are NOT alone!". Everyone has had to face fear at some point in their riding career. But we love to ride and we want to get our confidence back, so we are gamely pushing ahead. Let me teach you techniques to conquer your fear and get back the joy in the ride!
Here at Dressage for Everyone I offer monthly workshops to help riders identify how you are sabotaging your progress and set up a plan to overcoming the evil voice in your brain that is holding you back. We also work on motivation, scheduling, goal setting, and learning how to stick to it! It's time to get out of our own heads and get back to enjoying the fabulous world of horses!
Hi everyone! I'm Holly Winkeljohn, and I've been an instructor for over 30 years. My passion is dressage and I have a fondness for Western Dressage. But mainly I love horses and consider it an honor to devote my professional life to helping riders get more out of their rides. I try to always remember the little girl (or boy) in all of us who grew up dreaming of galloping through a field of daisies bareback on a horse. That sense of wonder should never be forgotten. While we strive to improve our scores, better our communication, and better understand our equine partners - let us never forget the amazing gift that is riding.
